Our History.
Lipscombe Auction House, located in sunny Nelson, was established in the 1930’s and is a locally owned and operated business. Over the 80 plus years Lipscombe Auctions has been operating, it has only had 5 owners. As the leading Auction House during this time in the region, it has established a reputation with both Vendors and Buyers that they are proud off.
The mission statement has been to both continue its growth and development as well as embracing all modern means of promoting its auctions. Over the last 12 months Lipscombes has established a number of Art and other Specialist Auctions.
We aim to make it a warm and friendly environment here, with our auctions being a fun event to come along to.

Warwick is a born and breed Nelsonian. He took over Lipscombes Auction house in 2015. After a career in both accounting and the commercial word, the challenge of owning and developing an Auction House was too much to resist. He loves both the pace of the fast turnaround the in the Auction Rooms
